“I Hate Surprises” – Sock Yarn and Chocs Club Dec ’23 colourway

Some people love the idea of Yarn Clubs…..but really hate getting a surprise colourway. So, for each of my Sock Yarn and Chocs Club deliveries, I always dye a handful of extra skeins so that people can still join in the fun, but they are able to have sight of the colourway before they purchase it.

This yarn was dyed for the Dec ’23 club delivery. It is a vibrant 100g skein of merino high twist sock yarn with 20% nylon for strength, to which you can choose to add a 20g contrast mini skein. The chocs are not included with the ‘I Hate Surprises’ option.

The recommended pattern this month was Black Harry Socks by the lovely Karen Hicks (available free on Ravelry). Black Harry was a notorious highwayman who attacked and robbed travellers in the early 18th Century on the old packhorse routes between Tideswell and Bakewell. And Karen has dedicated a sock design to him!

Note that the Sock Yarn and Chocs Club is paused for the time being, as Chloe the chocolatier is off having a baby. But you can always sign up to my Simply Sock Yarn Club, or the PDY Mini Skein Club.

Machine washable on a gentle 30 degree wool cycle.

Main colourway: 100 grams / 365m
