Description
** Sock Yarn and Chocs Club is closing for a while. The next (and final!) delivery will be at the end of December 2023. Sign-ups close on 20th December or before if we reach our maximum production capacity.**
I’m delighted that Peak District Yarns has teamed up with the talented young artisan chocolatier, Chloe from Yohan’s Chocolate Shop. Based in the Peak District, Yohan’s Chocolate Shop make the most delicious hand-made and hand-painted chocolates, using traditional methods. We’re collaborating through our unique Sock Yarn and Chocs Club.
What do Club members get?
Sock yarn. And chocolates. The colour palette for the chocolates and the yarn will be the same – so your chocs will match your socks!!
The Yarn:
One 100g skein of hand-dyed yarn. The yarn you will receive will be different each time. But it will always be suitable for socks. For example, it could be standard merino or bluefaced leicester sock yarn, or perhaps a yak and merino sock yarn, or maybe a more luxury merino cashmere sock yarn etc. You could, of course, choose to use your skein for something completely different – a shawl perhaps. But that’s entirely up to you.
With each club yarn delivery, I will offer a sock pattern suggestion which you could use to best show off the yarn. This may be a free pattern available on the internet, or a paid-for pattern. Note that the actual pattern will not be included with the yarn – just a suggestion.
You can choose to add a 20g contrast mini skein to your subscription. Useful for contrast heels, cuffs and toes.
If you’d like your 100g skein delivered in cake form (rather than in a skein), just add a note when you order….or drop an email to carrie@peakdistrictyarns.co.uk and it will be caked for you. This service is free to Yarn Club subscribers.
The Chocs:
Six hand-crafted and hand-painted chocs in a presentation box. Share with others, or simply tuck in yourself whilst casting on your socks. Just make sure they are eaten relatively soon after you receive them – the fresh ingredients, and no preservatives, mean that Yohan’s chocolates are at their best within two weeks of receiving them. See allergen information below.
(Note: If you order other items at the same time as a Yarn Club subscription, the other items on your order will be posted at the same time as your Yarn Club delivery. This may some weeks away. So, if you want your other items urgently, then please place a separate order).
What if I hate surprises?
I know that some people really hate the surprise element of yarn clubs. So, each month of the club, I will make sure I produce more skeins than subscriptions. That way, once Club members have received and opened their parcels, pictures of the yarn can be shared. At this point, I will list a ‘I Hate Surprises’ option in the webshop so you can see the yarn before you purchase. The December ’22 delivery is available as “I Hate Surprises” options. All other previous colourways have sold out.
Got questions?
If you have any questions about the Sock Yarn and Chocs Club, contact Carrie here. You can find out more about Yohan’s Chocolate Shop here.
A note about allergens: Yohan’s Chocolate Shop bonbons are made in a small kitchen where gluten, nuts (incl. peanuts), soya, sesame, celery, dairy(milk) and eggs are used. We are always extremely careful not to cross contaminate and the kitchen is cleaned thoroughly throughout the day but we must advise that these ingredients are present and used in the same space. If you have any allergies or food intolerances please make us aware, thank you.
Finally, this product is only available to customers in England, Scotland and Wales. Unfortunately, we can’t send chocolates to customers in Northern Ireland due to new rules regarding the export of foodstuffs. So, so sorry ☹
