Description
Do you have a sewing machine and know the basics but don’t know where to turn to make the next step? Is creating something unique for your home appealing? Would you like to be able to make your own scatter cushion?
Come along to the WizardMakes workshop at the Peak District Yarn Studio and spend time developing your sewing skills, and become confident to take the next step. We will make a zipped cushion cover, showing you a simple way to get zip into your cover. We will provide a range of plain and patterned fabric for you to choose from. You can then either select a feather or fibre cushion pad. (Approx cushion size 45cm square.)
At the workshop we will use Janome machines from their current range. These have a speed control that allows you to grow in confidence from a steady stitcher to a fast, efficient seamstress. We will begin our class using these machines, but you are welcome to bring along your own serviced machine if you would like a bit of advice on how to use it. We will look at student machines during the afternoon tea break.
(Unfortunately, we are not able to offer a repair service for machines)
Maximum 6 participants per workshop. All materials are provided.
The workshop runs from 10am to 4pm and is held at the Peak District Yarns Studio and Workshop, Commercial Road, Tideswell, SK17 8NU. Lunch is not provided, but you are welcome to bring a packed lunch, or you can pop to one of the local cafes when we break for lunch.
