Variegated yarns can be tricky to crochet with, the simple but effective stitch pattern in this cosy hat, draws the yarn across in strands that show off the beautiful dyeing to its full effect.

Sizes
To fit head: 50(56, 63)cm/20(22, 25)in
Finished circumference: 48 (53, 61)cm/19(21, 24)in

Materials
230g of Double Knit Yarn (DK)
4.5mm hook
6mm hook

Tension
20 sts and 12 rows in htr in BLO to 10 cm/4 in using 4.5mm hook (or size needed to achieve tension)
16 sts and 16 rows in body pattern to 10 cm/4 in using 6mm hook (or size needed to achieve tension)
Note, the row height of the rib (htr in BLO) is the most crucial part of the tension to get right.

Construction
Starting with the brim, worked in rows, the hat is then worked in rounds, turned each round and decreased in pattern at the crown.
